It targets the relief of localized pain and swelling (inflammation) in the back and muscles. In addition, the gel relieves joint pain, sprains, strains, as well as minor sports injuries.1
Voltaren Emulgel for back and muscle pain is designed to rub into the skin to relieve acute pain affecting the joints and muscles. The active ingredient, diclofenac diethylamine, belongs to the group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) which work by blocking the production of certain substances called prostaglandins, which are involved in the development of pain and inflammation.¹
How to use it
For adults and adolescents 16 years of age and older:
- Use 3 to 4 times a day.
- The amount needed will vary depending on the size of the painful or swollen area: 2g to 4g (1g equals a strip approximately 2cm long) The gel will be sufficient to cover an area of 400 to 800 square centimetres.
