Calcium rezonium powder 300 grams Calcium rezonium powder to treat high potassium levels Calcium rezonium is used to treat what is called “hyperkalemia”. This happens when there is too much potassium in the blood.

It works by removing this excess potassium to return your levels to normal. It is often given to people with kidney problems and people on dialysis.

Special medical uses Calcium rhizonium powder

  • It is used to treat hyperkalemia associated with anuria or severe oliguria.
  • It is also used to treat hyperkalemia in patients who require dialysis and patients undergoing regular hemodialysis or prolonged peritoneal dialysis.

How to use calcium rhizonium powder

  • The usual dose is 15 g three or four times a day.
  • Each dose should be given as a suspension in a small amount of water or in a syrup (but not fruit juices containing potassium), at a ratio of 3 to 4 ml per gram of resin.
  • Give risonium calcium at least 3 hours before or 3 hours after other oral medications. For patients with gastroparesis, a 6-hour interval should be given.
  • Doses may be changed in special circumstances, so always follow your doctor or pharmacist's instructions.
  • If you take more than you should, talk to your doctor or go to hospital straight away.
  • If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for your next dose.
