Tendinitis occurs when a tendon swells (inflames) after a tendon injury. It can cause joint pain and stiffness and affect how the tendon moves. (eg tennis elbow) Osteoarthritis is a disease characterized by degeneration of the cartilage and underlying bone within the joint as well as bone overgrowth. The most affected joints are the knees, hips, and joints in the hands. How to give CLOFEN CREAMAGEL Gently squeeze a small amount of gel from the tube and place it on the painful or swollen area, rubbing it slowly into the skin. The amount required varies depending on the size of the painful or swollen area.


  • You may notice a slight cooling effect when you rub the gel. Use only the smallest amount of this medication needed to relieve your pain.
  • Apply the gel twice a day (preferably in the morning and evening) to the painful area.
  • Do not apply to wounds or open skin.
  • Do not use it for more than two weeks without consulting your doctor.
  • Doses may be changed in special circumstances, so always follow your doctor or pharmacist's instructions.
  • If you take more than you should, talk to your doctor or go to hospital straight away.
  • If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for your next dose.
  • Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for a missed dose.

Do not apply the gel to skin with a rash, eczema, cuts, or open wounds. Discontinue treatment if a rash appears after applying the product. Avoid applying it to large areas of skin for a long time, unless under medical advice. Tell your doctor about all the medicines you take, especially: Other NSAIDs Aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid) Corticosteroids Blood thinners such as warfarin Store CLOFEN CREAMAGEL Storage conditions below 30°C.
