Avalon Perilla 5% Topical Anesthetic Cream for Leg and Genital Ulcers 5 x 5g Perilla 5% Cream contains lidocaine and prilocaine, both of which are amide group local anesthetics. When it penetrates the epidermis and dermis, it produces anesthetics for the skin. It is used for: superficial anesthesia of the skin related to the insertion of the needle before laser treatment, waxing and superficial surgery.


Perilla Cream is a premium formulation for local anesthesia and pain relief. The cream contains a mixture of narcotic substances that prevent the sensation of pain by acting on the peripheral nerves and preventing nerve signals from reaching the sensory centers in the brain, which helps in a sense of comfort and relaxation.


Components:

  • Lidocaine, 2.5%.
  • Procaine (prilocaine) 2.5%.


What are the uses of Perilla Cream?

The cream is used as a local anesthetic in the following cases:

  • Treating pain caused by anal or rectal problems (hemorrhoids).
  • Reducing pain caused by denture irritation.
  • Before minor surgeries.
  • Before laser hair removal operations.
  • Pain caused by mouth ulcers.
  • Before suturing the skin as a local anesthetic.
  • Treatment of premature ejaculation in men.
  • An anesthetic for the skin before hair removal in women.


Before using Perilla Cream

It is forbidden to use the cream in the following cases:

  • Patients allergic to any of the components of the cream.
  • Children with blood disorders such as methemoglobin.
  • Patients with liver disease.
  • Patients with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency (sickle cell anemia).
  • Pregnancy and breast-feeding only under the supervision of a physician.


Dosage and method of use of Perilla Cream

  • Clean the skin with soap and water and dry carefully before applying the cream.
  • The cream is to be used on the surface of intact skin and genital mucosal areas, and not on broken skin.
  • For local skin anaesthesia: Apply 2.5 grams of cream over 20 to 25 cm 2 of the skin's surface for at least 1 to 2 hours.
  • To numb the genital mucosa in women: Apply a thick layer (5 to 10 grams) of the cream for 5 to 10 minutes.
  • To delay ejaculation in men: Apply a thick layer of cream (1 g/10 cm2) to the surface of the penis for at least 15 minutes before intercourse begins.
  • The cream can be used as a local anesthetic in children. Follow the doctor's instructions for dosage and apply the appropriate amount to the surface of the skin for at least 4 hours.
  • The cream is not recommended for use in children less than 37 weeks of gestation or infants under 12 months of age who are receiving treatment with methemoglobin-stimulating agents (a condition in which hemoglobin binds to iron trioxide instead of iron).
  • Do not try to double or increase your dose because an overdose may cause side effects such as irregular heartbeat, seizure, slowed breathing, coma, or respiratory failure (apnea).

  • severe burning, stinging, or irritation where the cream was applied
  • Swelling of the face, lips and tongue.
  • Sudden dizziness or drowsiness after applying the cream.
  • Feeling of confusion and blurred vision.
  • Hearing impairment and ringing in the ears.
  • The appearance of bruising or the appearance of a purple color to the skin.
  • Unusual sensation of temperature.
  • Sensation of tingling or numbness.
  • Shortness of breath.
  • The occurrence of stomach ulcers.
  • Changes in skin color.
