Aldara Imiquimod Cream 12 Sachets This medication is used to treat certain types of growths on the skin. These are precancerous tumors (actinic keratosis), a certain type of skin cancer (superficial basal cell carcinoma), and extragenital/anal warts. Treating these conditions can reduce their complications.

Imiquimod cream for the treatment of warts on the surface of the genital organs and around the anus, superficial basal cell carcinoma, and actinic keratosis.


Do not use imiquimod:

• If you are allergic to imiquimod or any of the other ingredients of this medication


Warnings and precautions:

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using imiquimod cream

• If you have previously used imiquimod cream or other similar preparations.

• If you suffer from problems with the immune system.

• If you have abnormal blood counts.

• If you are infected with HIV, you should inform your doctor because imiquimod cream has not been shown to be effective in patients with HIV.


Possible side effects of imiquimod:

• Changes in skin color in the area where imiquimod cream was applied. While these changes tend to improve over time, they may be permanent in some patients.

• Skin reactions: When using Imiquimod cream, stop applying the cream, wash the area with mild soap and water and contact your doctor or pharmacist.

• Low blood counts, which may make you more susceptible to infections, make you bruise easily or cause fatigue.

• Hair loss at the treatment site or the surrounding area.


Other medicines and imiquimod:

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines. There are no medications known to be incompatible with Imiquimod Cream.


How to use Imiquimod:

• Always use this medication exactly as your doctor has told you. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

• Wash your hands carefully before and after applying the cream. Do not cover the treated area with bandages or other dressings after applying imiquimod cream.

• Open a new sachet each time you use the cream. Dispose of the remaining cream in the bag after use. Do not save the opened bag for later use.

• Treatment frequency and duration vary for genital warts, basal cell carcinoma, and actinic keratosis.

Children and teenagers:

It is not recommended for use in children and adolescents.
