Iprovasc 300 mg - 5 mg Irbesartan 300 mg + Amlodipine 5 mg Tablets Irbesartan and Amlodipine Tablets Irbesartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) and works by blocking the effect of angiotensin II in the body, which causes constriction of blood vessels.
As a result, irbesartan relaxes blood vessels, lowering blood pressure and increasing the supply of blood and oxygen to the heart.
Amlodipine inhibits the flow of calcium ions into cells, with a greater effect on smooth muscle cells in blood vessels, leading to vasodilation and reducing blood vessel resistance to the passage of blood, thus lowering blood pressure.
