Bloom-D is a medicine used to treat vitamin D deficiency.
2. What you should know before eating Bloom - Dr
Do not take Bloom-D in the following cases :
- If you are allergic to vitamin D3 or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).
- If you have high calcium levels in your blood (hypercalcemia) or urine (hypercalciuria).
- If you have kidney stones.
- If you suffer from kidney failure.
- If you have high levels of vitamin D in your blood (hypervitaminosis D).
- If you have a false decrease in the activity levels of the parathyroid gland (a defect in the metabolic processes of the parathyroid glands) or what is called pseudohypoparathyroidism.
- If you are pregnant.
- If you are under 18 years old.
Do not take this medicine if any of the above applies to you. If you are not sure, talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine.
Warnings and precautions:
Talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse before you start using Bloom-D:
- If you are being treated with certain medicines used to treat heart disorders (eg, cardiac glycosides, such as digoxin)
- If you have sarcoidosis (an immune system disorder, which may lead to increased levels of vitamin D3 in the body).
- If you take medications containing vitamin D3 , or eat foods or milk rich in vitamin D3
- If you are likely to be exposed to excessive amounts of sunlight while using Bloom-D .
- If you take nutritional supplements containing calcium. Your doctor will monitor your blood calcium levels to make sure they are not too high while you are using Bloom-D
- If you suffer from kidney disease or failure. Your doctor may measure calcium levels in your blood or urine.
Children and adolescents
This medicine is not suitable for use in children and teenagers under 18 years of age.
Bloom-D and other medications
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have taken, have recently taken or are going to take any other medicines. This is important if you use the following:
- Medicines that act on the heart and kidneys, for example, cardiac glycosides (such as digoxin) or diuretics (such as
bendroflumethiazide). When used at the same time as vitamin D3, these medications may cause an increase in the level of calcium in the blood and urine.
- Medications containing vitamin D3 , or eating foods rich in vitamin D3 , for example some types of milk fortified with vitamin D3 .
- Actinomycin (a medicine used to treat some types of cancer) and an imidazole antifungal (such as clotrimazole and ketoconazole, medicines used to treat fungal diseases). These medications may interfere with the way your body handles vitamin D.
- The medications listed below may interfere with the effect or absorption of vitamin D3 :
- Medicines used to treat epilepsy (anticonvulsants) Barbiturates.
- Glucocorticoid hormones (glucocorticoids, such as hydrocortisone and prednisolone) as they may reduce the effect of vitamin D3 .
- Medicines that reduce blood cholesterol levels (such as cholestyramine or colestipol).
- Some medications used for weight loss, which in turn reduce the amount of fat absorbed by the body (such as Orlistat)
- Some laxatives (such as liquid paraffin).
Pregnancy, breastfeeding and fertility
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or suspect that you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine. It is not recommended to use this high concentration medicine for pregnant and breastfeeding women.
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking any medication during pregnancy.
Driving and using machines
There is limited information about the effects that may occur when you take this medicine. However, use of Bloom-D is not expected to affect your ability to drive or operate machinery.
3. How to take Bloom - Dr
Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
The tablet should be swallowed whole with a glass of water. It is preferable to take Bloom-D with a meal to help your body absorb vitamin D.
How to use it in adults:
The recommended dose for treating vitamin D deficiency is 50,000 IU once weekly for 6-8 weeks. Then it is followed by a period of maintenance treatment (1,400 - 2,000 international units per day, which is equivalent to 50,000 international units per month, which is equivalent to one tablet per month).
During long-term treatment periods, calcium levels in the blood and urine are monitored, and kidney function must also be monitored periodically by the doctor to ensure the safety of the medication and to verify that you are using the correct and appropriate dose.
Use in children and adolescents (under 18 years):
This medicine is not suitable for use in children and teenagers under 18 years of age
Use in pregnant and breastfeeding women:
It is not recommended to use this high concentration medicine for pregnant and breastfeeding women
How to take Bloom - Dr

If you take more Bloom-D than you should
If you take more Bloom-D tablets than you should, or if anyone else takes your medicine by mistake, contact
Contact your doctor immediately because you may need medical care. If possible, take the package with you so your doctor can see it.
The most common symptoms due to overdose are nausea, vomiting, excessive thirst, excessive urination within 24 hours, constipation and dehydration, and high levels of calcium in the blood (hypercalcemia and hypercalciuria), which will appear during laboratory analysis.
If you forget to take Bloom-Dr
If you forget to take Bloom-D take it as soon as you remember. Then take your next dose at the usual time. But if it is an appointment
Your next dose is approaching, skip the dose you missed. The treatment was continued normally at the next appointment, in order to avoid taking a double dose of the medication.
If you stop taking Bloom-Dr
