Genera Pill 21 Tablet is a combined oral contraceptive and belongs to a group of medicines often called "pills". It contains two types of hormone: an estrogen, called ethinyl estradiol, and a progesterone type called gestodene.
These hormones prevent the ovary from releasing an egg each month (ovulation). They also increase the density of the fluid (mucus) in the neck of the womb (cervix), making it more difficult for sperm to reach the egg, and change the lining of the uterus to make it less likely to accept a fertilized egg. Medical research and extensive experience have shown that the pill, if taken correctly, is an effective and reversible form of contraception, and this medication, like other hormonal contraceptives, will not protect you from infection with HIV (AIDS) and other sexually transmitted diseases. . Only condoms can do that.
Do birth control pills work?
Combined birth control pills contain hormones that are equivalent to those produced by your body (estrogen and progesterone). These hormones help prevent pregnancy, just as your natural hormones prevent you from getting pregnant again when you are already pregnant.
Combined birth control pills protect you from pregnancy in three ways:
• It will not release an egg to be fertilized by sperm.
• The fluid in the cervix thickens, making it more difficult for sperm to enter.
• The lining of your uterus does not thicken enough for an egg to start developing.
