Iron deficiency is the world's most common nutritional deficiency, particularly affecting pregnant women, chronic kidney disease patients, and those with inflammatory bowel disease. When oral iron fails due to intolerance or insufficient response, Ferinject's advanced ferric carboxymaltose formulation allows large replenishment doses in a single session — the fastest, most effective solution.
**Active Ingredient:**
Ferric Carboxymaltose 50mg elemental iron per mL — intravenous solution.
**Medical Indications:**
Iron deficiency (with or without anemia) in adults and children when:
- Oral iron preparations are not tolerated or produce insufficient clinical response.
- Rapid iron repletion is required (pre-surgical correction, late-stage pregnancy).
- Iron deficiency in non-dialysis dependent chronic kidney disease.
- Iron deficiency in inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis).
- Iron deficiency anemia during pregnancy.
