Flaminal Hydro Gel for Treating Mild to Moderate Wounds 30g Flaminal Hydro is a new category of wound healing products, enzyme alginate, consisting of an antibacterial enzyme system embedded in hydrolyzed alginate. Flaminal Hydro promotes wound healing in several ways:
1. Flaminal Hydro keeps the wound clean.
2. Flaminal Hydro keeps the wound moist.
3. Flaminal Hydro provides protection against microbes.
4. Flaminal Hydro is safe for skin and wound tissue.
5. Flaminal Hydro reduces the odor of wounds caused by bacteria.
6. Flaminal Hydro helps reduce excessive protease activity (protease = enzyme that breaks down proteins).
7. Flaminal Hydro reduces the number of bacteria released from the biofilm.
8. Flaminal Hydro protects the wound edge.
These are the main properties for quick wound healing.
Flaminal Hydro is indicated for mild to moderate exuding wounds, such as:
- Leg ulcers
- Diabetic ulcer
- Second degree burns (deep, superficial)
- Wounds resulting from radiation therapy
- Tumor wounds
- Complex abrasions
- Wounds resulting from skin surgery
Instructions for use:
Applying or reapplying Flaminal Hydro to the wound is easy and painless. Complete as follows:
1. First clean and rinse the wound
2. Dry gently
3. Cover the entire wound layer with a sufficiently thick layer (eg 4-5 mm) Flaminal Hydro
4. Cover Flaminal Hydro with a bandage. The choice of bandage is determined by the nature of the wound:
- Dry wound: transparent film (polyurethane) or lipid dressing attached to a non-adhesive bandage
- Low exudation: non-adhesive wound dressing is attached with a non-adhesive bandage or with a hypoallergenic adhesive bandage
- Moderate exudation: non-adhesive absorbent pad attached with non-adhesive bandage or hypoallergenic adhesive plaster
Good to know:
- Check the bandage daily. If there are leaks or insufficient amount of gel, replace Flaminal® Hydro and apply a new bandage.
-If dry white alginate crusts appear at the wound margin during treatment with Flaminal Hydro, leave them alone. They protect against softening of the wound edge. Softening slows wound healing.
-If dry white alginate crusts appear in the wound, cover it
Flaminal Hydro as with a dry wound. Wound crusts disappear when the fluid balance in the wound is restored.
- If the gel works too quickly, the wound is too wet for Flaminal Hydro and it is better to use Flaminal Forte.
- The dressing with Flaminal Hydro can remain in place as long as the gel composition is intact (from 1 to 4 days, depending on the degree of discharge).
- In the first stage of treatment, you may have the impression that the wound is enlarged. This is a natural result of the healing process as dead tissue is removed.
-Since alginates are natural products, the color may vary slightly. Color change does not affect the quality of Flaminal Hydro.
special cases:
Leg ulcers: Adhesives often cause allergic reactions, especially in patients with leg ulcers. Use a non-stick bandage.
- Weak wounds: Place sterile cotton tampons in the cavities to support them and use a sufficient amount of Flaminal Hydro in the cavities between the tampons.
- Fistulas and deep narrow wound cavities: Gently inject Flaminal Hydro into the cavity using a specialized cannula.
- Wound drainage: Apply a thick layer of Flaminal Hydro or use Flaminal® Forte.
- Heel ulcers: Apply Flaminal Hydro and cover with a V-shaped gauze bandage.
Preventive measures:
Additional treatment may be required for some wounds. Consult a doctor or wound specialist.
Flaminal Hydro can be used on infected wounds under medical supervision.
Alginates have an unpleasant odor that does not affect wound healing. However, if the smell suddenly becomes more noticeable, consult a doctor or wound specialist.
Flaminal Hydro should not be used in patients with a known allergy to any of the components (see “Composition”).
Flaminal Hydro should not be applied to the eyelids or in the eyes. If this happens, rinse the eyes well with running water. See a doctor.
