Travatan Drops to Increase Ocular Fluid Outflow and Reduce Intraocular Pressure 2.5 ml to reduce intraocular hypertension in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension.
Use of Travatan eye drops
- Wait at least 15 minutes after using this medication before putting in contact lenses. Tilt your head back, look up and pull the lower eyelid to make the pouch. Hold the dropper directly over your eye and put one drop, usually twice daily (12 hours apart) or as directed by your doctor.
- Dosages may be changed in special circumstances, so always follow your doctor or pharmacist's instructions.
- If you take more than you should, talk to your doctor or go to the hospital right away.
- If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for your next dose.
- Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for a forgotten dose.
Travatan eye drops side effects
- Although the following side effects are not common to everyone, some patients may complain of:
- Temporary blurred vision Temporary burning/stinging/itching/redness of the eyes, watery eyes, dry eyes, dry mouth, feeling as if something is in the eye, headache, dizziness, or drowsiness may occur.
- If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
Precautions for pregnancy and lactation while taking Travatan eye drops
- This medicine should not be used during pregnancy unless the benefits outweigh the risks.
- Lactation: It is not known if it passes into breast milk.
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
- Your doctor will discuss the potential risks and benefits of using this medicine during pregnancy and breast-feeding
