Singulair Pediatric Oral Granules 4 mg 28 sachets Montelukast for the treatment of asthma and the prevention of asthma symptoms during the day and at night. It is used to treat adults and adolescents aged 15 years and over who are not under adequate control with their medications and need additional treatment.
- Montelukast also helps prevent exercise-induced narrowing of the airways.
- Montelukast is prescribed for asthma, as Montelukast can also relieve the symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis.
Use of Singulair for children 4 mg effervescent sachets
- Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.
- Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
- Dosages will depend on your medical condition
- This medicine should be given to a child under the supervision of an adult.
- Chewable tablets should not be taken immediately with food; It should be taken at least one hour before or two hours after food
- For children who have trouble taking chewable tablets, an oral effervescent granule formulation is available.
- For children aged 2 to 5 years: 4 mg chewable tablets (or 4 mg effervescent granules) daily, taken in the evening.
- For children 6 to 14 years: 5 mg chewable tablets are available.
- The 4 mg chewable tablet is not recommended for use under 2 years.
- Doses may be changed in special circumstances, so always follow your doctor or pharmacist's instructions.
- If you take more medicine than you should, talk to your doctor or go to hospital straight away.
- If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for your next dose
- Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for a missed dose.

- Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking montelukast
- If your asthma gets worse or breathing becomes more difficult, tell your doctor right away.
- Montelukast is not intended to treat severe asthma attacks. If an attack occurs, follow the instructions given to you by your doctor. Always take your inhaled rescue medication with you to treat asthma attacks.
- It is important that you or your child take all of the asthma medications your doctor prescribed. Montelukast should not be replaced with other asthma medications prescribed by your doctor.
- Any patient taking anti-asthma medications should be aware that if they develop a combination of symptoms such as flu-like illness, numbness in the arms or legs, worsening pulmonary symptoms and/or rash, they should consult a physician.
- Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medicines, including non-prescription medicines, prescription medicines, herbal supplements, vitamins, and nutritional supplements.
