Lamisil Cream for Skin Fungal Infections 15g Terbinafine kills fungi and yeasts by interfering with cell membranes. It works by preventing fungi from producing a substance called ergosterol, which is an essential component of fungal cell membranes. Disruption of ergosterol production disrupts the cell membrane and leads to the appearance of holes.
the components :
- 1 gm contains 10 mg terbinafine hydrochloride (active ingredient).
- Excipients: purified water, sodium hydroxide, benzyl alcohol, sorbitan ester, cetyl palmitate, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, polysorbate 60, isopropyl myristate.
It contains the active ingredient: terbinafine 1%, which is an antifungal medicine used to treat infections caused by fungi.
Fungal cell membranes are essential for their survival. They prevent unwanted substances from entering the cells and prevent the leakage of cell contents. Because terbinafine causes holes to appear in cell membranes, essential components of fungal cells can leak out. This kills the fungus and thus eliminates the infection.
Lamisil cream is applied to the skin to treat a wide range of fungal skin infections. Improvement in symptoms is usually observed after a few days of treatment, but the prescribed course must be terminated to ensure complete recovery of the infection and prevent it from returning.
