Rivaldo Carvedilol 6.25 mg 30 Capsules Rivaldo (Carvedilol) is a multi-acting adrenergic receptor blocker with α1, β1 and β2 adrenergic receptor blockade properties. Carvedilol has been shown to have an organ-protective effect. Carvedilol inhibits the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system through ß-blockade,
- This reduces renin secretion, making fluid retention rare.
- Carvedilol reduces peripheral vascular resistance by selective blockade of alpha 1 receptors.
- Carvedilol has no negative effect on the lipid profile. The normal ratio of high-density lipoproteins to low-density lipoproteins (HDL/LDL) is maintained.
Action of carvedilol
- It prevents the stimulation of beta adrenergic receptors, and beta receptors stimulate the heart and increase the heart rate and contraction force
- Beta blockers protect the heart from excessive activity. This medication works by influencing the body's response to certain nerve impulses, especially in the heart.
- As a result, it slows the heart rate and makes the heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body
- It also acts as an alpha blocker to dilate certain blood vessels. This helps lower blood pressure.
