Divosalic ointment reduces inflammation, itching and redness of the skin 30 grams
Each gram contains: 0.5 mg Betamethasone (in the form of dipropionate) 30 mg Salicylic acid It is used to treat some skin conditions in which the upper layers of the skin are covered with a layer of scales. Your medication will remove these scales and reduce the redness and itching resulting from these problems. Apply a thin layer one to two times daily. In most cases, a thin layer should be applied to cover the affected area twice daily. It is recommended that Divosalc preparations be prescribed for two weeks, and that treatment be reviewed at that time. The dose for children should not exceed 5 days. Ointment is 30 grams. A prescription is required to dispense the medicine
- This product consists of two active ingredients; Betamethasone dipropionate and salicylic acid.
- Betamethasone dipropionate belongs to a class of medications known as "topical corticosteroids" that work to reduce inflammation, itching, and redness of the skin.
- Salicylic acid is a medication that works by softening the top layer of scales on the surface of the skin, allowing betamethasone dipropionate to reach the affected area of skin below the scales to aid recovery from the skin disease.
- This product is used to treat adults and children with skin problems that include a layer of scales covering the affected skin.
- This product will help reduce itching and redness in your skin and remove the flaky layer.
How to use Betamethasone Dipropionate/Salicylic Acid:
grown ups:
- Apply a thin layer of ointment and massage gently onto the affected area and surrounding skin areas twice a day (morning and evening).
children:
- The recommended dose is the same as that for adults.
- Using an incorrect amount of this medication or using it for a long period of time may cause changes in your child's hormones,
- Which rarely causes a round face or moon face, delayed growth and development, and a buildup of pressure in the brain area that can lead to the fontanelle (the soft spot at the top of the skull) bulging in infants,
- Persistent headache and vision problems (such as blurred vision).
- If using this ointment on children, make sure not to use it for more than 5 days.
Instructions for use:
- Wash your hands before and after using the ointment.
- Be sure to replace the cap on the tube after using the ointment to avoid leakage of the medication.
- Be sure to follow the instructions in this leaflet unless your doctor or pharmacist advises them differently. Ask your pharmacist or doctor if you are not sure.
- Make sure to keep the ointment away from your eyes.
- Make sure not to place the ointment under a dressing (such as a bandage or plaster) or under your child's diaper to prevent excessive absorption of the medication and subsequent unwanted side effects.
- Do not apply a large amount of this ointment to large body areas for a long period of time (eg daily for several weeks or months).
- Do not use this ointment on your face for more than 5 days.
- Do not use this ointment on skin wounds, on large areas of skin, or in skin folds (such as the back of the knee).
Warnings and precautions:
- Stop taking the medicine immediately and talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you develop any allergies or skin reactions to any of the ingredients in this ointment such as skin itching, skin redness, shortness of breath, rash, swelling of the face or neck, low blood pressure, and dizziness.
- This medication is intended for external topical use only. Do not swallow this product.
- Avoid contact of the ointment with the lips, eyes, mouth, sensitive areas of the neck and corners of the nose to avoid irritation.
- In case of accidental contact, be sure to rinse the area well with warm water and then allow it to dry.
- Be sure to tell your doctor if you have psoriasis before using this medication.

- Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines, including topical products.
How to store betamethasone dipropionate/salicylic acid:
- Keep out of reach of children and pets.
- Store in a dry place below 25°C.
- Do not use after the expiry date stated on the ointment.
- Do not dispose of medicines in wastewater or household waste.
- Ask your pharmacist how to throw away medicines you no longer use.
- Keep the medicine in its original package to protect it from moisture and light.
