High strength lactic acid superficial peeling formula
Lactic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid that exfoliates the skin. This 10% formula offers mild exfoliation and is powered by purified Tasmanian peppermint known to reduce signs of inflammation and sensitivity often associated with exfoliation. A milder 5% formula is available here.
This formula contains a studied Tasmanian Pepperberry derivative to help reduce irritation associated with acid use. This derivative is of plant origin and varies in color seasonally and this color variation may be evident in the formula from time to time.

The pH of this formula is about 3.8. Lactic Acid has a pKa of 3.8 and pKa is the most important aspect to consider when forming acids. pKa means acid availability. When the pKa approaches the pH, there is an optimal balance between salt and acidity, which increases the effectiveness of the acid and reduces irritation. Higher pH numbers in such a case may result in excess salt making the formula more irritating than if the formula were more acidic.
NB:
While lactic acid can produce quick visible benefits, we generally suggest indirect forms of skin exfoliation in favor of direct forms like this formula due to the potential inflammation and sensitivity associated with acids. Please refer to NIOD Non-Acidic Precursors for such reference.

Apply once a day, preferably in the evening. It may be diluted with other treatments to reduce the strength until the skin develops tolerance. Avoid contact with eyes. Contact of the product with the skin should be limited in frequency or duration. If irritation occurs, discontinue use and consult a physician. Use only as directed on unbroken skin.
