Zemaxid Gatifloxacin Eye Drop Solution 2.5 ml Gatifloxacin is used to treat eye infections caused by bacteria sensitive to gatifloxacin.
Do not take gatifloxacin
• If you are allergic to gatifloxacin, any quinolones, or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Warnings and precautions:
• Tell your doctor about all your health conditions before using this drug.
• Do not use for longer than directed. A second infection may occur.
• Avoid wearing contact lenses during treatment with this medication.
Possible side effects:
Stop using this product and seek immediate medical attention if you develop a rash; Itch; red, blistered, or peeling skin; tightness in the chest or throat; difficulty breathing, swallowing, or speaking; Unusual hoarseness or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat. The frequency with which these side effects occur is unknown.
Common side effects:

• Change in the ability to taste
• Watery eyes
Gatifloxacin uses:
• It is not used in children under one year of age.
• This drug is intended for the eyes only.
• Use this drug as ordered by your doctor.
• Tilt your head back. Gently pull your lower eyelid and look up. Put one drop in the lower eyelid, then close your eyes and press on the inner corner of the eye for a minute.
• For gatifloxacin 0.5%, drip 1 drop every 2 hours (up to 8 times) for the first day. Then drip one drop every 4 times daily on the second to seventh day.
• For gatifloxacin 0.3%, drip one drop every 2 hours (up to 8 times) on days 1 and 2. Then drip one drop every 4 times daily on the third to seventh day.
