Ciprocin Eye and Ear Drops 5ml Ciprofloxacin is used locally to treat superficial infections of the eye (affecting the eyelids, conjunctiva and cornea) and infections of the external ear canal (otitis externa) caused by bacteria susceptible to the action of this medicine.
Do not use ciprofloxacin:
- If you are allergic to ciprofloxacin, any other fluoroquinolone antibiotic, or any component of this medication.

Possible side effects:

How to use ciprofloxacin:
· For external use only. The drops should be used on the eyes or ears. The ointment should be used on the eyes only.
- The ointment should not be used for children under two years of age.
- Take as directed by your doctor.

· Do not touch the tip of the container to the eye, eyelid, or other skin.
Eye/ear drops
- For bacterial conjunctivitis (conjunctivitis): 2 drops in the affected eye every 2 hours while awake for 2 days and then 2 drops every 4 hours while awake for 5 days.
- For corneal ulcer (ulcer in the eye): 2 drops of solution in the affected eye every 15 minutes for the first 6 hours, then 2 drops in the affected eye every 30 minutes for the rest of the first day. On the second day, two drops are placed in the affected eye every hour. - On the third and fourteenth days: two drops in the affected eye every 4 hours.
- For infection of the external ear canal, place 0.25 ml in the affected ear twice daily for 7 days.
Eye ointment
· For bacterial conjunctivitis, apply a 1/2-inch strip to the lower eyelid 3 times/day for the first 2 days, followed by a 1/2-inch strip applied twice daily for 5 days.
How to store ciprofloxacin:
· Store at room temperature 68 to 77 degrees F (20 to 25 degrees C).
· Protect from light.
- Keep this medicine out of the reach of children.
- Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the package. The expiry date refers to the last day of the same month.
