Apigen Eye and Ear Drops - 10ml Apigen eye drops contain the active ingredient gentamicin, which is a type of medicine called an aminoglycoside antibiotic, and is used to treat infections caused by bacteria. It works by influencing the bacteria’s production of certain proteins which are essential for survival. It is used to treat bacterial infections of the eye (such as conjunctivitis ), or the outer part of the ear canal (bacterial otitis externa).
Uses of Apigen drops:
– Bacterial infections of the ears, for example otitis externa or otitis media
– Bacterial infections of the eyes, eg bacterial conjunctivitis
– Preventing bacterial infections that affect the eye or ear
Warnings when using Apigen drops:
These drops are for use in the eyes or ears only and should not be taken orally
– You should not wear contact lenses while using Apigen drops to treat eye inflammation
-When used in the eye, it may temporarily obscure your vision
– Unless your doctor tells you otherwise, it is important that you finish the prescribed course of this antibiotic medication
– Do not use it for a longer period than prescribed by the doctor
- You must seek medical advice immediately if your symptoms get worse at any point during treatment, or if you think you have a new infection.
Apigen drops are sterile, and when they are opened, they should be disposed of four weeks after they were first opened, as they can become contaminated with germs. You may find it useful to write the date of the first opening on the bottle.
Use Apigen drops with caution in the following cases:

– Decreased liver function
Contraindications for using Apigen drops:
– Ear infections in people who have a perforated eardrum (due to an increased risk of hearing damage)
