Olopat sterile eye solution:
Olopatadine Ophthalmic Solution 0.1% (as hydrochloride) 5ml inhibits the release of histamine from mast cells and is a relatively selective receptor antagonist. As a result, Olopatadine prevents immediate type I hypersensitivity reactions. Topical ophthalmic administration relieves ocular itching associated with allergic conjunctivitis.
- Olopatadine eye drops are a medication to treat and control eye allergies, and it works in two different ways by reducing and controlling the severity of the allergic reaction.
- Olopatadine eye drops are used to treat eye itching associated with seasonal allergic conjunctivitis.
- Allergic conjunctivitis: Certain substances (allergens) such as pollen, house dust, or animal fur may cause allergic reactions that lead to itching and redness as well as swelling of the surface of the eye.
Use Olopat eye drops
- Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.
- Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
- To apply eye drops, wash your hands first. To avoid contamination, do not touch the dropper tip or let it touch your eye or any other surface.
- If you wear contact lenses, remove them before using eye drops.
- Wait at least 10 minutes before replacing contact lenses.
- Tilt your head back, look up, and pull the lower eyelid down to create a pouch.
- Hold the dropper directly above your eye and place one drop into the pouch. Look down, gently close your eyes, then place one finger at the corner of your eye (near the nose).
- Apply gentle pressure for one to two minutes before opening your eyes. This will prevent the medication from draining. Try not to blink or rub your eyes.
- If you are directed to use this medication in both eyes, repeat these steps for your other eye.
- If you are using another type of eye medication (such as drops or ointments), wait at least 5 minutes before using other medications.
- Use eye drops before eye ointments to allow the drops to enter the eye.
- Use this medication regularly to get the most benefit from it.
- To help you remember, use it at the same time(s) each day.
- If your condition persists or worsens, or if you think you may have a serious medical problem, get medical help right away.
- Doses may be changed in special circumstances, so always follow your doctor or pharmacist's instructions.
- If you take more medicine than you should, talk to your doctor or go to hospital straight away.
- If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for your next dose
- Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for a missed dose.

- If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
