What is 0.9% sodium chloride and what is it used for:
- This product contains 0.9 g of sodium chloride (salt) per 100 ml of water.
- It is used for adults and children to wash wounds, moisturize the skin and for nebulization (used for inhalation solutions).
- This solution does not contain preservatives.
Do not use 0.9% sodium chloride:
- For oral or injectable use (this medication is intended for external use only).
- If the solution is opaque, has an odor or color, or is unclean.
Warnings and precautions:
- Stop using the medicine immediately and talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you develop any allergies or skin reactions to any of the ingredients in this solution.
- Such as skin itching, skin redness, rash, and swelling of the face or neck.
- This medication is intended for external topical use only.
- Talk to your doctor if symptoms persist.
- Follow aseptic technique when preparing and administering sterile irrigation solutions.
- Make sure not to use the solution for irrigation which may cause large amounts of fluid to be absorbed into the blood.
- Caution should be exercised when using the solution for continuous irrigation to prevent possible absorption of the solution into the blood.
Possible side effects:
- Side effects include irrigation or unintended lumen infiltration (if the catheter or tube becomes dislodged),
- Tear or swelling of the tissue (in case of excessive amount or pressure during irrigation of closed cavities),
- And cross-contamination (in the case of a careless technician who does not adhere to sterile technique).
Other medicines and 0.9% sodium chloride:

- This solution is used as required to wash wounds and moisturize the skin.
- If used in a nebulizer, be sure to follow your nebulizer's instructions

How to store 0.9% sodium chloride:
- Keep the medicine out of the reach of children and pets.
- Store the medicine at room temperature.
- Do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the solution.
- The sterility of the product is guaranteed if the container is not opened.
- Discard the unused portion of the container as soon as it is opened.
- Keep the medicine in its original package to protect it from moisture and light.
- Do not dispose of medicines in wastewater or household waste.
